Whether you should give importance to others without taking care of you or you should take care of yourself without bothering about others? Which one is right? How to balance this? If you take care of yourself, others think that she is selfish. If you take care of others, what about yourself? Please solve this Sir.
Answer: Throughout your life you love yourself only. And you are selfish only. Why do you take care of others? In the beginning, you take care of others for name and fame or for material benefits. Then you take care of others because it's your duty. You do your duty to reduce your karma.
Then you take care of others because you are not able to tolerate if others are suffering. It pains you. To get rid of the pain you take care of others. After enlightenment , you feel the entire universe is yourself. So wherever the pain is, it's your pain. You try to remove it.
It's like if any part of your body gets hurt, automatically you will try to remove the pain. To an enlightened person the whole universe is his body. So whoever suffers, it's his suffering only. That's why all the enlightened masters are preaching to remove the sufferings of the world.
So from the beginning to end, you are selfish and loving yourself only. Whatever you have done, is for the benefit of yourself only. As self is everything, be selfish.
