Annual rituals for ancestors

19.7.2015

Question: Hello Sir, can you please explain what is the use of doing yearly ceremonies after one's death. How is it going to benefit them?

Answer: There may be two reasons for performing yearly ceremonies.

1. Gratitude

2. Receiving their unfulfilled desires

Whatever you have is the gift of your ancestors through genes. Through these ceremonies you show your gratitude to them and dissolve your ego. Then, when you perform yearly ceremonies, you remember them. When you remember them, you reactivate their qualities which you have received already so that their unfulfilled desires will be fulfilled and they become free.

No need to perform ceremonies. Because whenever you think of them, this will happen. You will not feel to perform these ceremonies, if

1. You have attained enlightenment

2. That soul has attained enlightenment or attached to someone.
